CAMILLE AUBRAY’S HOLIDAY BARGAIN, RECIPES AND THOUGHTS FOR YOU!

Camille Aubray’s “Snow-Chilled Champagne”

So happy to share the season with you! First, so many readers tell me that they give my novels as gifts, so I’m glad to announce that the hardcover edition of THE GIRL FROM THE GRAND HOTEL is now available for a special low price, just in time for your holiday shopping. We all know lots of people who would love to escape to the French Riviera right now—or, just curl up in a nice comfy chair on a cozy winter’s eve and be an armchair traveler.

Meanwhile, for anyone lucky enough to get snow in time for Christmas or New Year’s, here is one of my best holiday secrets: “Snow-Chilled Champagne.” For some reason, it just tastes better! All you do is park a bottle of champagne in the pure white snow, and wait. Turn it around from time to time, then remove as soon as the bottle feels cold enough (don’t let it freeze!) Then make a wish, pour, and sip!

People also ask for recipes to the meals that I describe in my novels. I love all the holiday feasts of this season, but there’s a special place in my heart for the ones that my European grandmothers made at this time of year. I heartily recommend a lasagne for a wonderful comfort meal, so, you’ll find that recipe here: https://www.camilleaubray.com/recipes-1/2021/11/26/camille-aubrays-lasagne-alla-petrina along with many other good things to eat and drink that are featured on the Recipe page of my website.

And finally, if you don’t fancy big family gatherings or long travel snarls, it doesn’t take much to give yourself the treat of a quiet holiday. It’s the season of lights, so just a few colored lights or candles, some pretty table setting, something good cooking in the oven, and then, make yourself something nice to drink, whether it’s a hot chocolate or a cocktail. Try a French ‘75, which is just a splash of good gin like Hendrik’s, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and then some nice cold, dry champagne. Happy holidays to all!
